From Our Laguna Beach Tea Shop

For years we watched customers look at the chai wall and then say some version of the same thing: I wish I could drink chai at night. We heard it enough times to know we needed an answer. This one is the answer. Now the people who love a chai at the end of the day can have it and still sleep. That was the whole assignment.

If someone wants chai in the morning, Masala Chai Organic is the one we point them toward, made the traditional way with black tea. And when they want that same chai comfort later in the day without the caffeine, Rooibos Chai is another favorite.

  • How to brew it hot

Use 1 teaspoon per 8 oz. Steep at 212°F for 3-5 minutes. A full boil gets the most out of the spice.

  • How to make iced tea

Use 2 teaspoons per 8 oz. Steep at 212°F for 3-5 minutes, then pour over a full glass of ice. Double strength keeps the ice from watering it down.

  • How to cold brew

Use 1.5 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of filtered water.
Steep in your fridge for 8 to 12 hours.
Strain out the leaves and enjoy!
A long cold steep gives you a smoother cup.

Beyond the Cup: Make Something Tasty with This Organic Decaf Chai Tea

Chai-Spiced Pulled Pork

Serves 4 to 6

Chai Decaf Organic tea steeps and simmers right alongside the pork in the crock pot, adding warm spice to every shred of this slow-cooked roast.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb boneless pork loin roast
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 4 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 2 tbsp Chai Decaf Organic tea
  • 1 cup unsweetened apple cider

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle the pork roast with the kosher salt on all sides, and gently pat the minced garlic onto the meat.
  2. Add the chai decaf tea to a cup and pour the boiling water on top. Let steep for 5 minutes, then strain before adding it to your crock pot along with the apple cider.
  3. Place the pork roast in the crock pot on top of the liquid and set the crock pot on low. Cook for 6 hours, spooning the liquid onto the meat periodically.
  4. Remove the roast from the crock pot, cut off the netting, and place the meat on a cutting board.
  5. Using two forks, shred the meat and place it back in the crock pot with the juices for another 10 minutes.
