This is a seasonal ritual, not a daily cup. It's designed to be done three times a year, timed to the changes of season, which in Ayurveda are the most important windows for cleansing and resetting.

Use the two-steep method. In the morning, steep fresh leaves 5 to 7 minutes and drink on an empty stomach or with light food. Save your leaves in a small covered dish. In the evening, reuse those same leaves for 10 to 15 minutes. The longer evening steep draws out the deeper compounds and works with your liver's overnight cycle. Sip slowly. Take 5 to 10 minutes with each cup. No lemon, honey or sweetener during the active cleanse phase.

Prep the week before. Ease off alcohol, processed food, refined sugar and white flour, and start drinking filtered water. Your body responds better when it is not jumping cold into a cleanse.

During the deep cleanse phase build meals around bitter greens, cruciferous vegetables, beets and warm lemon water. Skip alcohol entirely. Even one drink stops the liver detox process.

Your liver is not just filtering what you eat and drink. It is filtering your emotions too. In Ayurveda the liver is the seat of transformation, tied to how we hold frustration, stress and what we have not let go of yet.
