Unlock the Full Benefit of this Tea

You do not have to travel anywhere exotic to pick up parasites. A dog, kids in school, gardening, swimming in the ocean or a lake, eating fresh raw food. These are all normal everyday things where the body comes into contact with parasites. Most people have no idea.

Vidya, our co-founder, does this cleanse herself three times a year. Not because something is wrong, but because she lives here, has a dog, eats fresh food and spends time outdoors. Periodic gut support is just part of how she stays well. It can be part of how you stay well too.

Drink it between meals, not with food. The herbs work better that way. One cup daily for 14 days, then take a minimum two week break before continuing. After that, two to three times a week as maintenance is enough.

The tea works best alongside the right foods. Pumpkin seeds, garlic, ginger, papaya, leafy greens and fermented foods all support what the tea is doing. Pull back on refined sugar and alcohol while you cleanse. Those feed what you are trying to clear.

Drink eight to ten glasses of water a day. Hydration is what keeps everything moving and makes the cleanse feel manageable rather than rough.

A small amount of raw honey or fresh lemon stirred in after brewing softens the earthy bitter edge if the flavor is a lot for you.

You can also hear Vidya break down the difference between parasites, candida and heavy metals and how to know which one your body is dealing with in Episode 21 of The Tea on Wellness Podcast.

This tea isn't a sipping tea you would reach for on a lazy afternoon. It tastes like it means business. A small amount of raw honey or fresh lemon stirred in after brewing softens it nicely if the taste isn't for you.

  • Why does this tea work?

Black walnut: one of the classic cleansing herbs, used for centuries in traditional medicine to support digestive and intestinal balance. Contains juglone, the natural compound that gives black walnut its traditional cleansing reputation.

Wormwood: an ancient bitter herb with a long history of use for healthy intestinal function and gut balance. Contains artemisinin, one of the most studied compounds in traditional herbal medicine.

Clove: warm and aromatic, rich in eugenol, long used to support gut balance and a comfortable digestive environment. This is where a lot of the flavor comes from too.

Oregano: naturally rich in carvacrol and thymol, traditionally used to support gut and immune balance.

Pau d'arco: a South American bark used in traditional wellness to support internal balance during a cleanse. Contains lapachol, the compound that gives pau d'arco its place in traditional cleansing protocols.

Olive leaf: rich in oleuropein, traditionally used to support immune resilience during periods of digestive stress.

Oregon grape root: contains berberine and traditionally used to support digestion and liver function.

Astragalus: an adaptogenic root with a long history of supporting immune function, included here to keep the body resilient through the cleanse so it does not feel depleted.

Sheep sorrel: part of the Essiac formula, one of the most respected traditional cleansing blends. A long history of use in gut support and cleansing protocols.

Ginger: warming and settling, here to keep digestion comfortable so the cleanse does not leave your stomach unhappy.

Lemongrass: a bright digestive aid that lifts the flavor and keeps things moving.

These statements are based on traditional herbal use and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

  • Is this the right one for me?

This is the serious two-week cleanse. Black walnut, wormwood and clove, the trio traditional cleanses have relied on for generations, with digestion support built in so your gut stays comfortable the whole way through. Not your everyday cup. A focused reset you do, take a break from, and repeat seasonally.

If your symptoms are more about sugar cravings, post-meal bloating and afternoon energy crashes, our Candida Support Tea is the better match. It is a gentler support blend for a different pattern. And if your fog, fatigue and feeling off connects more to where you live and what is in your air and water, our Heavy Metal Support Tea is what you want. If you just want a broad gentle reset without targeting anything specific, our True Detox Herbal Organic is the place to start.

  • Who should skip this one?

Not recommended if you are pregnant or nursing, or if you are on any medication without checking with your doctor first.

This blend contains black walnut, so skip it if you have a tree nut allergy. It contains wormwood, so skip it if you have a seizure disorder. Wormwood and black walnut are potent herbs not meant for continuous long term use, so keep to the two week protocol, take a minimum two week break, then continue two to three times weekly as maintenance if needed. It also contains pau d'arco which can interact with blood thinners, and oregon grape root which contains berberine, so keep an eye on blood sugar if that applies to you. Not recommended for children.

If you have surgery coming up, stop two weeks before your procedure and let your surgical team know you have been taking this tea.

What Customers Ask Us About This Tea

Black walnut, wormwood and clove is one of the most powerful herbal trios in traditional medicine, used across cultures for generations specifically for gut cleansing and intestinal balance. Each one has its own role and together they have been the backbone of natural parasite protocols for centuries. What makes this blend different from a single herb cleanse is that it pairs those three with ginger, lemongrass and astragalus to keep your digestion supported and comfortable the whole way through. Most cleanses skip that part and leave your stomach unhappy. This one does not.

Most people do a focused two-week cleanse, one to two cups daily between meals, following the protocol in the free wellness guide. Because black walnut and wormwood are potent herbs, we do not recommend drinking it continuously beyond that window. Many of our customers move to a few cups a week for maintenance afterward, or repeat the full two-week cleanse seasonally. Two or three times a year is common. Signs it is working include improved energy, better digestion, less bloating, clearer sleep and sharper mental clarity. Give it the full two weeks before you judge it.

For most healthy adults it is gentle when used as directed. Some people notice mild digestive changes in the first few days. Skip it if you are pregnant or nursing, if you have a tree nut allergy because of the black walnut, if you have a seizure disorder because of the wormwood, or if you are on medications without checking with your doctor first. If you have severe symptoms like ongoing pain, fever or anything alarming, that is a doctor visit not a tea. A herbal cleanse is wellness support, not a diagnosis or a treatment.

That is the question we hear most across at the store. Travel is not the only way exposure happens. Pets, kids in daycare or school, gardening, ocean and lake swimming, and fresh raw food are all everyday contact points. Many people who eat clean and feel consistently off never make that connection. Periodic gut support is a sensible everyday move, not an extreme one. Vidya does this cleanse herself three times a year, living in Southern California with a dog and a fresh food lifestyle.
