Ginger Ground Organic

SINGLE INGREDIENT | ORGANIC | NON-GMO | GROUND

This is the ginger you reach for when you want warmth without hauling out the grater. Peppery and warm with a bright citrus edge, it stirs straight into cookie dough, curry, and chai without leaving any texture behind. Ground fresh so it still smells sharp and lemony the moment you open the jar.

What We tell customers about Organic Ground Ginger

People are often confused when they see both ginger root pieces and this ginger at the shop. We explain that ground ginger and our cut-and-sifted ginger root are two different tools. This one is milled fine, so it dissolves right into batter, dough, and sauce with no fibers left behind. That is what makes it the one for baking and dry rubs, where you want the flavor through and through, not a piece to fish out. The cut-and-sifted root is the one for steeping in tea, broths, and long-simmered curries. And if you are wondering whether ground ginger and ginger powder are the same thing, they are, two names for dried ginger root milled fine.

We also tell people ground ginger is stronger and more concentrated than fresh, so start small and taste up. When you are swapping it into a recipe that calls for fresh, about a quarter teaspoon of ground stands in for a tablespoon of grated. In savory cooking, add it early with the onions and garlic so it can bloom in the fat, which rounds off the raw edge and opens up the citrus notes. And freshness shows up fast: ground ginger that still smells sharp and lemony in the jar has flavor to give, so we source ours to be pungent, not flat.

  • What to use it on

Bake with it. Gingerbread, ginger cookies, spice cake, and pumpkin or apple pie all lean on ground ginger for that warm, holiday snap.

Build a curry or stir-fry on it. It dissolves into the oil and sauce evenly, so you get ginger in every bite instead of stray fibers.

Make it the base of your own spice blends. It plays with cinnamon, cardamom, clove, and coriander for chai, garam masala, and dry rubs.

Stir a pinch into chai, hot cider, or a morning cup. It bites through milk and sugar the way fresh ginger does, no chopping required.

  • How the pros use it

Toast ground ginger in a dry pan for 30–60 seconds before adding it to a dish. It wakes up the essential oils and deepens the flavor, so you get more warmth and spice from less powder.

  • What to pair it with

    Ground Ceylon Cinnamon

The classic baking pair. Ginger and cinnamon are the backbone of gingerbread, spice cake, and chai, warm and sweet together.

    Turmeric Powder

The savory partner. The two roots are the base of most curries and golden milk, earthy and warming side by side.
