Herbed Moringa Hummus
Makes about 2 cups
Creamy classic hummus given a nutrient boost with finely ground moringa leaf — a vibrant, earthy dip for snacking or entertaining.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Tea & Turmeric Moringa Leaf, finely ground
- 1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- ¼ cup tahini
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, plus more for serving
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 garlic cloves
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp sea salt, or to taste
- 2 to 4 tbsp cold water, as needed
- Extra virgin olive oil, for garnish
- Paprika, for garnish
- Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Using a spice grinder or mortar and pestle, grind the moringa leaves into a fine powder.
- Add the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, sea salt, and moringa to a food processor.
- Process until mostly smooth, adding the cold water one tablespoon at a time until the hummus reaches your desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust with additional salt or lemon juice if needed.
- Transfer to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with paprika, toasted sesame seeds, and fresh parsley, if desired.
