HERBAL TEA | CAFFEINE FREE | ORGANIC | LYMPHATIC SUPPORT

Puffy eyes in the morning. Rings tighter than they should be. Heavy legs after a long flight.

Before lymphatic drainage had a name, these herbs already knew how. Goosegrass, gathered in spring to shake off winter's heaviness. Huang qi for strength. Marigold for puffiness.

Today we call them cleavers, astragalus and calendula. And this tea resurrects ancient wisdom for reducing the water you've been holding.

Sold in 1 oz quantities. Makes 6-10 cups of tea.

Ingredients

organic cleavers, organic calendula, organic astragalus root, organic peppermint leaf, organic red clover, organic ginger

How To Get the Most From this tea for Lymphatic Support

Customers in our Laguna Beach store have usually heard plenty about lymphatic drainage but rarely expect a tea for it. Once they spot this one on the shelf, they don't ask many questions. They just buy it. Here's what we tell them to get the most from it.

Make this a daily ritual, two cups a day. Think of it as steady maintenance rather than something you reach for only when you feel puffy. The goal is to give your body these herbs consistently so they can do their work over time.

Brew your first cup with boiling water at 212F, steeped covered for 5 to 7 minutes. Then save the leaves. About 3 to 4 hours later, re-steep those same leaves at the same temperature for 10 to 15 minutes. Astragalus is a root and needs that longer contact with hot water to give you everything it has. Your first cup opens the day. Your second cup does the deeper work. Drink both cups at room temperature and take five to ten minutes to slowly and intentionally sip each one. This is not a tea you gulp on your way out the door.

Move after your cup. Because your lymph has no pump, it moves when your muscles move and when you breathe deeply. A ten-minute walk, a few minutes of stretching or a handful of slow, deep belly breaths after your tea gives the herbs a real partner. Drink plenty of water through the day too, since lymph is mostly water and flows better when you are well hydrated.

Give it time. This is not a quick fix and it was never meant to be. Most people notice they feel lighter and less puffy after a few weeks of consistent daily drinking rather than after a single cup.

Cycle it the way you would any tonic. Try three weeks on and one week off. Or drink it Monday to Friday and take the weekends off. Do this for three to four months and then stop for a full month to let the body rest and recalibrate. This keeps your body responsive to the herbs rather than adapting around them.

And listen to your body. If something feels off, pause for a few days. You know yourself better than any label does.

  • Why does this tea work?

Cleavers: the workhorse, and the herb Western herbalists reach for first when it comes to the lymphatic system. That sticky little plant that clings to your clothes on a hike has a long history of use for swollen glands and fluid that feels stuck. It also acts as a gentle diuretic, helping the body move excess fluid out. It is the reason this blend exists.

Calendula: the bright orange marigold flower, a classic lymphatic and skin herb in traditional herbalism. It carries flavonoids and triterpenoids, plant compounds studied for their anti-inflammatory effects. It has long been paired with cleavers to support drainage and calm puffiness.

Astragalus root: a cornerstone root of traditional Chinese medicine, known there as huang qi. Your lymphatic system is a central part of your immune system. Astragalus polysaccharides have been studied for their role in supporting immune function. It brings a deeper, building strength to a blend that would otherwise only be about movement.

Peppermint leaf: menthol relaxes the smooth muscle of the digestive tract, easing bloating and that heavy, full feeling that often rides alongside puffiness. It also gives this tea a cool, clean taste that makes the earthier herbs easy to enjoy.

Red clover: traditionally known as a blood cleanser in Western herbalism, used for the skin and the lymph for generations. It is rich in isoflavones, plant compounds that act a little like estrogen in the body, which is why it gets its own note in the caution section below.

Ginger: warming and circulation-supporting. Its active compounds, gingerols, help get things moving and settle the stomach. Its gentle heat balances the cooling peppermint so the tea tastes grounded rather than sharp.

These statements are based on traditional herbal use and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

  • Which tea is right for me?

If you feel puffy, sluggish or heavy and want a tea to support your body's natural drainage, this is the one. It is built around cleavers and calendula, the classic lymphatic pairing, with astragalus for the immune side.

If what you are really after is a liver reset, our True Liver Detox Herbal Organic is the better fit. It is built around milk thistle and dandelion root for the liver and healthy bile flow. It is meant for an occasional seasonal cleanse.

And if your swelling is sudden, painful or on one side only, skip the tea for now and see your doctor first. The same goes for lymph nodes that stay swollen for more than a couple of weeks. That kind of swelling needs a proper look, not a tonic.

  • Who should use extra caution?

Not recommended if you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition or are on medications without checking with your healthcare provider first.

This blend contains red clover, which carries plant compounds that act a little like estrogen. Even at the small amount in a teaspoon of this blend, skip it if you have a hormone-sensitive condition such as breast cancer, endometriosis or fibroids.

It also contains astragalus, so check with your doctor first if you have an autoimmune condition or take immune-suppressing medication. And if you are allergic to ragweed, daisies or marigolds, calendula may not agree with you.

Cleavers is a gentle diuretic, so if you take lithium, check with your doctor before drinking this tea, especially if you drink a lot of it.

Questions from our Laguna Beach Store customers about this tea

Lymphatic drainage tea works best as gentle support alongside movement. Lymphatic Support Organic is made with the herbs traditionally trusted for it the longest. Cleavers, the first herb in this blend, has been used for generations to help the body move fluid that feels stuck, with calendula as its traditional partner for puffiness. Pair it with walking, deep breathing and plenty of water, since your lymph moves when you do.

Lymphatic drainage tea uses herbs traditionally trusted to support your lymphatic system, which carries fluid, waste and immune cells around the body but has no heart to push it. It relies on movement, breathing and good hydration. The herbs in this tea, especially cleavers and calendula, have been used for generations by traditional herbalists to support that flow, though modern research on herbs and the lymph is still mostly traditional rather than clinical. Think of this tea as one support. Pair it with the things that move lymph the most, which are walking, deep breathing and plenty of water.

For everyday puffiness, the kind you notice in your face in the morning or your ankles after a long day of sitting, many people find this tea helps them feel lighter, especially with cleavers' gentle diuretic action and peppermint easing bloating. Give it a few weeks. If the swelling is new, sudden, painful or only on one side, that is a reason to see your doctor rather than reach for a tea.

This lymphatic tea is gentle. Still, a few of its herbs deserve a check before you start. Red clover is not for anyone with a hormone-sensitive condition. Astragalus needs a word with your doctor if you have an autoimmune condition or take immune-suppressing medication. Cleavers needs one if you take lithium. If none of those apply to you, it is an easy tea to enjoy. "How to get the most from this tea" covers how often to drink it.
