From Our Laguna Beach Tea Shop

This one has quietly become one of our favorites for bringing a tropical mood into an evening cup. Rooibos stays mellow and easy on its own, so the coconut gets to shine through without ever feeling heavy. It's the cup we reach for when we want something comforting and grounding that still feels a little bit coastal.

If you love this tropical flavor profile and want to explore it in a richer black tea format, Coconut Orchid Vanilla Organic Black Tea is a beautiful next step. If you prefer to keep things light, delicate, and entirely different, Pina Colada Herbal Tea offers a completely fresh take on coconut.

  • How to brew it hot

1 teaspoon per 8 oz, steeped at 212°F for 5 to 10 minutes. Full heat pulls out the deepest coconut and tropical character.

  • How to make iced tea

2 teaspoons per 8 oz, same temperature and time, poured over a full glass of ice. The extra leaf keeps the coconut from thinning out over ice.

  • How to cold brew

Use 1.5 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of filtered water.
Steep in your fridge for 10 to 14 hours.
Strain out the leaves and enjoy!

The Tropical Rooibos & Coconut Water Cooler

Serves 2

A robust Coconut Rooibos concentrate meets chilled coconut water and fresh lime, finished with toasted coconut flakes for a light, tropical cooler.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Coconut Rooibos loose leaf
  • 6 oz boiling filtered water (212°F)
  • 4 oz chilled pure coconut water
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz agave nectar or simple syrup (optional, depending on the sweetness of the coconut water)
  • A thin lime wheel and toasted coconut flakes, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil and Steep: Pour boiling water directly over the Coconut Rooibos leaves, cover, and steep for 6 to 7 minutes to draw out a rich, robust red concentrate, then strain and let cool completely. The longer steep is what gives rooibos its full-bodied color and flavor.
  2. Mix the Base: In a tall glass filled with ice, combine 3 ounces of the cooled rooibos concentrate with the chilled coconut water, fresh lime juice, and sweetener. Using chilled coconut water keeps the drink cold without diluting it with extra ice.
  3. Stir and Garnish: Stir gently from the bottom up, then garnish the rim with a lime wheel and a light sprinkle of toasted coconut flakes. Stirring from the bottom blends the layers evenly without losing the drink's chill.
