Introduction: Your Liver Does More Than You Think
Most people think of liver detox in terms of alcohol or heavy food. But your liver is filtering everything. Every emotion you suppress, every stressful thought you carry, every toxin in your food, water, skincare, and environment passes through your liver. It is one of the hardest working organs in your body and one of the most overlooked.
In Ayurveda, the liver is considered the seat of transformation. It does not just process what you eat and drink. It processes what you feel. Anger, frustration, resentment, and unresolved stress all leave a burden on the liver just as alcohol and processed food do.
True Detox Tea is a gentle, carefully formulated herbal blend designed to support your liver's natural cleansing processes, ease digestive burden, and create the conditions for genuine whole-body renewal. This is not a harsh cleanse. This is a gentle, supported reset.
Your liver has been working hard for you. It is time to work for it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes True Detox Tea different from other detox teas?
Most detox teas on the market rely on senna or laxative herbs that force elimination. True Detox Tea works gently through the liver and digestive system using time-tested Ayurvedic and traditional herbs. It supports your body's own natural detoxification pathways rather than overriding them.
Is this guide safe for everyone?
This guide provides educational information for adults. Always consult a healthcare provider before starting any detox program, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, taking prescription medications, or managing a health condition.
Will I feel worse before I feel better?
Mild detox symptoms like temporary fatigue or mild digestive shifts can occur in the first few days and are normal signs that your body is responding. If symptoms worsen or feel severe, discontinue and consult your healthcare provider.

πΏ Herbal Ingredients in True Detox Tea
Understanding the traditional herbs that support your liver. Each ingredient in True Detox Tea was chosen for its long history of use in Ayurvedic and traditional herbal medicine for supporting liver function, digestive health, and natural cellular cleansing. All ingredients are certified organic and ethically sourced.
Dandelion Root
Taraxacum officinale
One of the most well-respected liver support herbs in both Western herbalism and Ayurveda. Promotes healthy bile flow, supports the liver's natural filtration processes, and is rich in minerals that nourish the body during cleansing. Its gentle, slightly bitter quality activates the digestive system and signals the liver to begin its work.
Licorice Root
Glycyrrhiza glabra
A traditional soothing herb used for thousands of years to support digestive comfort, protect the gut lining, and harmonize the other herbs in a blend. Its naturally sweet quality balances the bitterness of the cleansing herbs, making True Detox Tea pleasant to drink while doing deep work inside your body.
Boldo
Peumus boldus
A traditional South American herb with a long history of use for supporting liver and gallbladder function. Supports healthy bile production and is one of the few herbs traditionally used specifically for liver cleansing. It has a distinctive aromatic quality and is one of the most important herbs in this blend.
Chicory Root
Cichorium intybus
A traditional liver tonic herb that supports healthy bile flow and digestion. Also a natural prebiotic, feeding beneficial gut bacteria and supporting the gut-liver axis that plays a central role in the body's natural detoxification processes.
Milk Thistle
Silybum marianum
One of the most extensively studied herbs for liver support in the world. Contains silymarin, a compound widely researched for its role in protecting liver cells and supporting the liver's natural regeneration processes. It is the cornerstone liver support herb in this blend.
Fennel
Foeniculum vulgare
A warming, aromatic herb traditionally used to support comfortable digestion, reduce bloating, and ease the digestive discomfort that can sometimes accompany a cleanse. Fennel's gentle action makes it an ideal companion herb during detox, soothing the digestive system while the other herbs do their deeper work.
These herbs work together as a complete system. Each one supports a different aspect of liver and digestive function, creating a comprehensive, gentle detox that works with your body rather than against it.
β How to Brew True Detox Tea
One of the unique features of True Detox Tea is that you use the same tea leaves twice in one day, once in the morning and again in the evening. This two-steep method is intentional. The morning steep delivers a lighter, gentler extraction to ease your body into the day. The evening steep using the same leaves draws out the deeper compounds with a longer infusion, supporting your liver's natural overnight cleansing cycle.
Morning Steep
- Use 1 teaspoon per 8oz of boiling water (200β212Β°F)
- Steep 5β7 minutes, covered
- Drink on an empty stomach or with light food
- Save your tea leaves for the evening
Evening Steep
- Use the same tea leaves from the morning
- Steep 10β15 minutes, covered, using boiling water
- Drink 1β2 hours after dinner
- The longer steep extracts deeper cleansing compounds from the roots
Best Practices
Always use filtered water and always cover while steeping to retain essential oils. Strain well before drinking.
Do not add lemon, honey, or sweetener during the active detox phase. After steeping, allow the tea to come to room temperature before drinking.
Sip slowly and intentionally. Take 5 to 10 minutes to drink each cup. This is not a tea to rush. The slower you drink it the more your body understands what to do with the tea.
Store used morning leaves in a small covered dish until evening.
How Often Should You Do This Detox?
True Detox Tea is not designed for continuous daily use. It is a periodic cleanse, powerful precisely because it is used intentionally and then paused.
We recommend doing this detox once every three months, ideally at each change of season. In Ayurveda, seasonal transitions are the most important times to cleanse. As your body adapts to a new season, your liver and digestive system benefit most from a supported reset.
Each season brings different foods, temperatures, and demands on your body. A seasonal cleanse clears what the previous season left behind and prepares your liver and digestive system for what is coming next. A properly supported detox done four times a year will serve you far better than continuous use. This is not a daily tea. It is a seasonal ritual.
π Your 14-Day True Detox Protocol
A gentle, three-phase plan for liver cleansing and whole body renewal. Each phase builds on the last, creating a complete and supported reset for your liver and whole body.
Phase 1 Β· Days 1β7: Pre-Cleanse Preparation
The pre-cleanse phase is just as important as the detox itself. Jumping straight into a liver cleanse without preparation can overwhelm your system. This phase gently removes the biggest burdens from your liver before the deeper cleansing begins.
- Gradually eliminate alcohol, processed and fast foods, white bread, pasta, and white rice
- Transition to clean eating: whole foods, lean proteins, fresh fruits, and vegetables
- Stay well hydrated throughout the day with filtered water
- Begin reducing caffeine gradually to avoid withdrawal headaches
- Get adequate rest and prioritize sleep
- Begin gentle movement: walking, yoga, or stretching daily
- Start your emotional detox practice: 5 minutes of journaling each morning
Phase 2 Β· Days 8β14: True Detox Tea (Deep Liver Cleanse)
- Drink True Detox Tea twice daily: morning and evening using the same tea leaves
- Morning: steep fresh leaves 5β7 minutes and drink on an empty stomach or with light food
- Evening: reuse leaves, steep 10β15 minutes and drink 1β2 hours after dinner
- Follow a clean eating plan: no processed foods, alcohol, or refined carbs
- Pause all other herbal teas, supplements, and vitamins (except prescription medications)
- Limit caffeine: moderate coffee or black tea allowed
- Stay hydrated throughout the day with filtered water
- Practice the Liver Release Practice daily (see Emotional Detox section)
- Gentle movement only: walking, yoga, light stretching
- In bed by 10pm
Phase 3 Β· After Day 14: Post-Cleanse (Maintain the Reset)
- Slowly reintroduce regular foods in reverse order of elimination: begin with simple whole grains, legumes, then dairy
- Maintain hydration and balanced nutrition
- Continue gentle movement and prioritize restful sleep
- Listen to your body and rest when needed
- Notice: clearer skin, lighter digestion, steadier energy, improved mood
Signs Your Body Is Responding
Lighter Digestion
More comfortable, easier digestion throughout the day
Clearer Skin
Clearer skin and brighter complexion
Steadier Energy
Steadier energy without afternoon crashes
Improved Mood
Improved mood and reduced irritability
Deeper Sleep
Deeper, more restful sleep
Clear-Headed
Feeling less heavy and more clear-headed
Simple Start (Don't Overwhelm Yourself)
- Remove alcohol and processed foods first, most important
- Add True Detox Tea morning and evening
- Drink filtered water consistently throughout the day
- Eat clean: whole foods, lean proteins, fresh vegetables
- Move gently every day
- Give yourself the full 14 days
Start with these six foundations. Everything else builds from here.
When to seek professional support
Contact a healthcare provider if you experience severe digestive discomfort, symptoms that worsen significantly, concerns about medications or existing conditions, or if mild detox symptoms persist beyond the first few days. This guide provides wellness and educational information only.
π₯ Liver-Supporting Foods During Your Detox
The most important shift: remove the burden before you expect the liver to heal.
Your liver cannot cleanse effectively if you keep adding to its load. The first step is removal, not addition. Before any supplement or herb can do its work, the daily burden on your liver needs to lighten.
Foods to Emphasise During Your Detox
- Bitter Greens: arugula, dandelion greens, radicchio, endive. Bitter foods directly stimulate bile flow and liver function. Make them the base of every meal.
- Cruciferous Vegetables: broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, kale. These contain compounds that support the liver's two-phase detoxification process at a cellular level.
- Beets: one of the most powerful liver-supporting foods available. Support bile flow, thin the bile for easier processing, and provide betaine which protects liver cells.
- Lemon and Citrus: warm lemon water first thing in the morning stimulates bile production and gently wakes up the liver before the day begins.
- Garlic and Onions: contain sulfur compounds that activate liver detox enzymes and support the elimination of toxins.
- Olive Oil: supports healthy bile flow and protects the liver. Use extra virgin olive oil generously on vegetables and salads during your cleanse.
- Clean Proteins: wild salmon, eggs, chicken, lentils, and legumes provide the amino acids the liver needs to complete its detoxification processes.
Foods to Eliminate Completely During Phase 2
- Alcohol: the liver prioritizes alcohol metabolism above all other functions. Even one drink completely halts the detox process.
- Processed and Packaged Foods: contain additives, preservatives, and inflammatory oils that directly burden the liver.
- Refined Sugars: excess sugar is converted to fat in the liver, contributing to fatty liver and impairing natural detox function.
- Refined Carbs: highly processed foods like white bread, pizza, chips, and packaged meals.
- Fried Foods and Inflammatory Oils: corn, soybean, canola, and safflower oils create oxidative stress that damages liver cells.
- Conventional Dairy: can be inflammatory and difficult for the liver to process during an active cleanse.
Emotional Detox β Your Liver Feels Everything
In Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, the liver is the organ most closely connected to anger, frustration, and resentment. Your liver is not just filtering your food and drink. It is filtering your emotions too.
Everything passes through your liver: the food you eat, the air you breathe, the skincare products you use, the medications you take, and the emotions you suppress. Anger held in the body, resentment carried for years, frustration never expressed β these are as burdensome to your liver as alcohol.
A physical detox without an emotional detox is only half the work.
During your 14 days, alongside your tea and clean eating, we invite you to practice releasing what you are still carrying.
Practices to Support Emotional Liver Cleansing
Journaling
5 minutes each morning. Write without editing. Let the frustration, resentment, or worry move from your body onto the page. You do not need to solve it. You just need to release it.
Slow Exhale Breathing
A long exhale activates the parasympathetic nervous system and directly supports liver qi flow in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Inhale for 4 counts, exhale for 8. Repeat 5 times whenever you feel tension, frustration, or overwhelm.
Time in Nature
Sunlight, fresh air, and green environments support the liver meridian. A 10-minute walk outside does more for your liver than most people realise.
Reducing Stimulation
News, social media, and constant screen time overstimulate the nervous system and burden the liver. Give yourself quiet time daily during your detox.
π§ The Liver Release Practice
A 5-minute daily meditation for letting go.
In Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, the liver is the seat of anger, frustration, and resentment. Physical detox and emotional detox are not separate processes. When you hold onto old anger β at a situation, a person, or yourself β your liver feels it.
This is not about excusing what hurt you. It is about releasing your body from the burden of carrying it.
Preparation: Find a quiet place. Sit comfortably and close your eyes. Place one hand on the right side of your ribcage, where your liver sits.
01
Calming Breath β 1 Minute
Take three slow, deep breaths. Inhale for 4 counts, exhale for 6 counts. Feel your hand rise and fall gently over your liver. Notice any tension in your jaw, your shoulders, your chest.
02
The Release Question β 1 Minute
Silently ask yourself: What am I still carrying that no longer serves me? Let whatever comes up simply be there. A person, a situation, a version of yourself. Do not push it away. Do not try to fix it. Just let it be seen.
03
The Release Breath β 2 Minutes
On your next exhale, silently repeat: I release what I cannot change. I choose my own peace. Repeat this three times. With each exhale imagine a warm golden light moving through your liver, gently loosening what has been held there.
04
Gratitude and Integration β 1 Minute
Take three grateful breaths. One for your body. One for your liver and everything it has silently processed for you. One for your willingness to let go. Open your eyes gently when ready.
When to Practice
Morning
Each morning during Phase 2 before your morning tea
Anytime
Any time you feel irritability, frustration, or tension during the cleanse
Evening
In the evening as part of your wind-down ritual
This practice compounds over time. The physical and emotional work of a true detox happen together. When you release what you are carrying, your liver releases too.
