Tea Time and Bed Time

Why Is Sleep So Important? “Without sleep, you have nothing” was a very profound statement made by our guruji in India, well over 20 years ago when he was teaching about the importance to sleep. This is truer than ever with all the stresses of the world, especially in the past few years. That’s why we feel that a good night’s sleep is actually a superpower. Sleep is about more than just feeling rested. It is essential to heal, to recover, to deal with stress, to solve problems creatively, to consolidate memories and improve motor skills. Not getting enough of it can lead to or exacerbate health problems. At our store, the number one functional tea request we get is something for sleep. While we have several very good teas for sleep (relaxing herbal tea, goodnight tea, dream catcher and sleepytime moringa hemp), it is also important to create the...

Chicken Tikka Mac & Cheese: A Dreamy Fusion

Growing up, our neighbor Mrs. Bouchard made the best mouthwatering mac and cheese, a comforting classic that always brought joy to the table. As I grew older, I found myself drawn to the vibrant flavors of my Indian heritage. I started to experiment with spices and techniques, infusing traditional Indian dishes with a cultural twist. One day, a dream brought together the comforting familiarity of Mrs. Bouchard's mac and cheese and the bold spices of Indian cuisine. The result? A mouthwatering fusion that has become my signature dish: Indian-Inspired Tikka Mac & Cheese. In the recipe below, the GG Mix and Protein Mix are part of our Indian Made Easy kit. Ingredients: For the Chicken Marinade: •    1 cup plain, full-fat yogurt•    juice of half a lemon•    3 tbsp GG Mix (reconstituted with 6 tbsp water)•    2 tsp Protein Mix•    1 tsp kashmiri chili powder•    0.5 tsp salt•    1.5 lbs...

Easy Chicken Tagine

If you've been to Morocco or even to a Moroccan restaurant, you've probably eaten a tagine. A tagine is a clay, cone shaped vessel that makes stews and casseroles simply delicious. Even if you don't have a tagine, you can still make a great Chicken Tagine that is a lightly spiced comfort food, especially when served with basmati rice and toasted almonds. Tagines are especially wonderful in the winter. Imagine a lightly spiced, sweet and tasty chicken tagine after a long work day in the winter time. Ideally this recipe is cooked in a tagine if you have it, but if you don't a Dutch oven will do just fine. Easy Chicken Tagine Recipe Ingredients: 1 tbsp olive oil 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 1 medium onion, chopped 2 cloves of garlic, chopped 0.25 cup fresh cilantro 1 tbsp Tea & Turmeric Ras el Hanout spice blend 0.25 tsp kosher...
