Unlock the Full Benefit of this Tea

Half a teaspoon per cup is all you need. The blend is already balanced for absorption, so there is no measuring of separate spices. Whisk half a teaspoon into your warmed milk and that is enough to support your wellness. More is not better, too much turns bitter.

Make it on the stove, with fat and heat. Warming the blend gently in milk on the stovetop is the traditional and most effective way. Turmeric needs fat, black pepper and heat to absorb, and golden milk naturally gives you all three. The pepper is in the blend, the heat comes from warming it, and the milk provides the fat. Do not let it come to a rolling boil. That will burn the turmeric and the other spices. Let it gently simmer until you see small bubbles forming on the sides of the pan. That is your signal.

Here is the tip we give our customers at the shop. The more you whisk while the milk is warming, the more the turmeric blooms. This is what makes it creamy and draws out the full benefit of the spices. Do not just stir and walk away. Stay with it. A couple of minutes of attention makes all the difference.

Use a milk with enough fat. Full fat coconut milk is the classic Ayurvedic choice and works beautifully because its fat supports absorption, but dairy, oat, almond or cashew milk all work well. A thin watery low-fat milk will reduce how much turmeric you actually absorb.

Make it your evening wind-down. Drink it about thirty minutes before bed. The warmth itself signals your nervous system to downshift, and the cinnamon and nutmeg are chosen in Ayurveda for exactly this calming settling quality. It is not a sedative, just a gentle consistent signal to your body that it is safe to rest.

Be consistent, it builds over time. Golden milk is a daily ritual, not a quick fix. As we say at the store, this is a daily act of care, and prepared correctly and sipped regularly is what makes the difference.

  • Why does this tea work?

Turmeric: the golden base. It contains curcumin, the compound studied most for supporting a healthy inflammation response and joint comfort.

Black pepper and roasted coriander: these are the absorption helpers. Curcumin barely absorbs on its own, and the pepper in particular is what helps your body take it in, which is why the recipe builds them right in.

Ginger: a warming root traditionally used to ease soreness, support circulation and aid digestion.

Cinnamon: a warm, sweet spice traditionally used for gentle blood sugar support and chosen in Ayurveda for its calming, warming nature.

Nutmeg: a cozy, traditional evening spice long used in Ayurveda for its soothing, settling quality.

These statements are based on traditional herbal use and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

  • Is this the right one for me?

If you want the warm, soothing, traditional golden milk ritual with everything already balanced for you, this is it. Caffeine-free, comforting and made for slow evenings, it is the easiest way to bring haldi doodh into your day.

If you would rather sip something steeped, our turmeric teas are made for that. Inflammation Fighter is our most herb-forward, grounding blend, Golden Citrus Ginger is bright and refreshing, and Soothing Turmeric Tea is the smooth caffeine-free cup for the evening. And if you want to build your own golden milk from the ground up, or want our highest-potency turmeric, our Therapeutic Turmeric 7.3% is the pure, single-origin powder to start from.

The simple way to choose: pick Sacred Golden Milk when you want the traditional warm-milk ritual ready to go, and pick a tea or the pure turmeric when you want to steep or to mix your own.

  • Who should skip this one?

Not recommended if you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition or are on medications without checking with your healthcare provider first.

This blend is turmeric-rich, and in larger daily amounts turmeric can interact with blood thinners and may not suit people with gallbladder concerns, so check with your doctor before using it regularly if that applies to you.

If you have a surgery scheduled, stop drinking all wellness tea at least two weeks before your procedure and let your surgical team know what herbs you have been taking.

What Customers Ask Us About This Tea

Golden milk, known as haldi doodh in Hindi, is a traditional Ayurvedic drink made by warming turmeric in milk with spices, and it has been part of Indian households for centuries as a daily wellness ritual. Our Sacred Golden Milk comes from a recipe passed down by our guruji, blending turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, roasted coriander and nutmeg with black pepper. The whole blend is formulated with the right ratios so the spices that help your body absorb turmeric are already built in, no guesswork, just warm it into your milk of choice.

Two reasons. The first is the turmeric itself. The higher the curcumin content, the more naturally bitter it is. That is what makes it medicinal, but it also means a little goes a long way. So, only half a teaspoon of our Sacred Golden Milk per cup is all you need. More is not better, it just turns bitter.

The second reason is heat. Do not let your golden milk come to a rolling boil. That burns the turmeric and the other spices and brings out the bitterness. Let it gently simmer until you see small bubbles forming on the sides of the pan and take it off the heat there. That is your signal.

Many of our customers reach for it in the evening, and it is one of the first things they mention. The warmth itself signals the nervous system to settle, and the cinnamon and nutmeg in our blend are chosen in Ayurveda for their calming, warming qualities. It is not a sedative, just a gentle and consistent signal to

Yes. Full-fat coconut milk is actually a traditional Ayurvedic choice and works beautifully because the fat helps your body absorb the turmeric, but oat, almond, cashew and dairy milk all work well too. The one thing to watch is fat content, since a very low-fat or watery milk will reduce absorption. Whatever you choose, make sure it has enough fat to do its job.
