Dragonwell Green Organic

$7.00

GREEN TEA | LOW CAFFEINE | ORGANIC | LIGHT & FLORAL

If you're already a green tea fan, this one is an argument for keeping multiple single greens. Dragonwell is lighter and more floral than gunpowder or sencha, hand picked in early spring, the leaves and big and flat. Brew it with no infuser at all and they sink to the bottom, so you can top the mug up and keep going. Same category, nothing like the same cup.

Sold in 1 oz quantities. Makes 6-10 cups of tea.

From Our Laguna Beach Tea Shop

We met Dragonwell in a Chinese tea tasting class, and it changed how we thought about green tea. The curiosity that class set off is most of the reason we know what we know about Chinese tea, and it has been on our shelf ever since. It is also the tea we reach for when we explain grandpa style: leaves straight into the mug, hot water over them, no infuser at all, then drink from the top and keep refilling through the day. When someone is deciding between Dragonwell, Sencha and Gyokuro, we still remember how surprised we were that three green teas could taste so different.

  • How to brew it hot

Use 1 teaspoon of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of water at 175 to 180 degrees. Steep 2 to 3 minutes. Lower water temperature keeps green tea from turning bitter.

  • How to make iced tea

Use 2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of water at 175 to 180 degrees. Steep 2 to 3 minutes and pour over a full glass of ice. The extra leaf covers what the ice waters down.

  • How to cold brew

Use 1.5 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of filtered water.
Steep in your fridge for 3 to 6 hours.
Strain out the leaves and enjoy!
