BLACK TEA | CONTAINS CAFFEINE | GUT MICROBIOME SUPPORT

For people who want to work on their gut over the long haul, not just calm it down after one rough meal*. Fermented pu-erh feeds the good bacteria in your gut, and a daily cup is how steady, ground up kind of progress happens.

Fermented pu-erh is one of the few teas with a natural microbial culture, the kind that feeds and supports your gut microbiome the way fermented foods do.

Sold in 1 oz quantities. Makes 6-10 cups of tea.

Unlock the Full Benefit of this Tea

Give it time and consistency. This is not an instant fix and it is not meant to be. Real gut change comes from showing up daily, and our customers tell us they start noticing the difference, less bloating, steadier energy, better skin, better sleep, within about two to four weeks of a consistent daily cup.

Drink it twice a day, three to four hours between cups, and use the same leaves both times. First steep three minutes, second steep five to ten minutes. Drink it at room temperature and sip it slowly over five to ten minutes. Your gut absorbs steady small doses better than one rushed cup.

Make it the second coffee swap. A lot of our customers reach for this mid morning instead of a second coffee. You get calm steady energy and you are feeding your gut at the same time.

  • Why does this tea work?

Pu-erh tea: the heart of the blend, a double fermented black tea traditionally valued for feeding the good bacteria in your gut and supporting digestion after meals. It is what sets this apart from an ordinary gut tea.

Ginger: warms and stimulates the system and has long been used to ease gas and bloating, helping your digestion feel active rather than sluggish.

Turmeric: the classic golden root, traditionally used to calm inflammation in the gut and support the whole digestive system.

Apple and peach: a touch of natural fruit sweetness and a little fiber, making the cup smooth and naturally sweet.

Dandelion leaves: traditionally used as a gentle support for digestion and the liver, part of the whole system approach here.

Safflower petals: a soft botanical finish that rounds out the blend.

These statements are based on traditional herbal use and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

  • Is this the right one for me?

Choose this tea when you want to work on your gut every day and you are ready to give it time. It works gradually through double fermented pu-erh, so be patient and consistent and let it build.

If you need fast relief from bloating and gas after a meal, our Bloat No More is the better pick and it is caffeine free. If things are not moving and you feel backed up, reach for Digestive Aid, which uses gentle senna for short term help. And if you like the daily tonic idea but want a caffeine free traditional route, our Ayurvedic Triphala has thousands of years of history behind it. Optimal Gut Health is the one you come back to every day for the long term work.

  • Who should skip this one?

Not recommended if you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition or are on medications without checking with your healthcare provider first.

One thing to know: this blend is built on pu-erh, which is a true black tea and does contain caffeine. Black tea generally has about half the caffeine of coffee, so it is manageable for most people. If you are caffeine sensitive or watching your intake, enjoy it earlier in the day rather than the evening. It also contains turmeric, which in concentrated amounts can be a consideration if you are on blood thinners or have gallbladder issues, so check with your doctor if that applies to you.

If you have surgery coming up, stop two weeks before your procedure and let your surgical team know you have been taking this tea.

What Customers Ask Us About This Tea

Yes, and this blend is built around that idea. Pu-erh is a double fermented black tea, and that genuine fermentation is the whole point. It produces compounds that traditionally feed the beneficial bacteria in your gut microbiome, which is what makes this different from an ordinary cup of tea. Ginger and turmeric warm and soothe the system alongside it, so you are getting gut support and anti-inflammatory support in the same daily cup.

This is a marathon, not a sprint, and that is worth being honest about. Because it works by gradually supporting the bacteria in your gut, you are unlikely to feel much from a single cup the way you would with a soothing peppermint tea. Most people who drink it consistently start noticing genuine shifts in two to four weeks, things like less bloating, steadier energy and better sleep. The key word is consistent. Your gut did not fall out of balance overnight, and it does not rebalance overnight either.

Our blend uses loose leaf pu-erh which is much gentler than the compressed pu-erh cakes you might read about online. Some people notice mild digestive changes in the first week or two as their gut adjusts to a new fermented tea. That is normal and usually settles quickly. It does contain caffeine so if you are sensitive drink it earlier in the day. Most people find this tea very easy to drink daily.

Twice a day, three to four hours between cups, earlier in the day because of the caffeine. Most people find after breakfast and after lunch works well. That lines up with the traditional digestive window and is easier on the stomach than drinking it on an empty stomach.
