Banana Nut Bread Rooibos

ROOIBOS TEA | CAFFEINE FREE | WARM & NUTTY

Opening the pouch of this tea is like opening the oven door when banana bread is baking. The honeybush gives it body and a sweet nutty smell of its own, and the cocoa nibs taste like the dark edge of the crust. We put it in our dessert collection and didn't think twice.

Sold in 1 oz quantities. Makes 6-10 cups of tea.

Ingredients

honeybush tea, apple, cinnamon, cocoa nibs, all natural banana & chestnut flavors, marigold petals

From Our Laguna Beach Tea Shop

One of us fought to get this onto the shelf, and she won. Banana nut bread was the first thing she ever learned to bake, somewhere around fifteen, and it's been her favorite dessert since. Every cup puts her back in that kitchen. It's also one of our best selling dessert teas, so the rest of us have stopped arguing.

One customer buys it in large bags and makes a dreamy mocktail out of it with oat milk and whipped cream, which we have been meaning to try ourselves.

  • How to brew it hot

1 teaspoon per 8 oz of water at 212°F, steeped 5 to 10 minutes. Herbal blends need the full boil and the longer steep.

  • How to make iced tea

2 teaspoons per 8 oz, same water and steep time, then pour over a full glass of ice. Double strength so the ice doesn't dilute it.

  • How to cold brew

Use 1.5 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of filtered water.
Steep in your fridge for 10 to 14 hours.
Strain out the leaves and enjoy!

Beyond the Cup: Make Something Tasty with This Dessert Tea

Banana Nut Bread Tea Latte

Serves 1

A cozy, milk-frothed latte built on a rich Banana Nut Bread Rooibos concentrate — sweet, nutty, and finished with a pinch of cinnamon.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons Banana Nut Bread Rooibos Tea
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or brown sugar
  • A pinch of ground cinnamon, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring the ½ cup of water to a boil in a small saucepan. Add the Banana Nut Bread Rooibos tea, cover, and let it steep for 7 minutes. The longer steep time ensures all the bread-like flavors — the apple, cocoa, and chestnut — fully release into the small amount of water.
  2. While the tea is steeping, heat your milk in a separate small pot or a milk frother until it is hot but not boiling.
  3. Once the tea is done, strain the concentrate directly into your favorite large mug. The hot water will have softened the apple and honeybush, so just use a fine-mesh strainer to catch the pieces.
  4. Stir in the maple syrup or brown sugar while the concentrate is still hot.
  5. Pour the frothed or heated milk over the tea concentrate.
  6. Finish with a tiny pinch of ground cinnamon on top and enjoy the aroma of warm banana bread.
