From Our Laguna Beach Tea Shop

The idea of a London Fog is what draws people to this one on our shelf. What surprises them is that the cup keeps the promise, with none of the three, Earl Grey, lavender or vanilla, being louder than the other two. This tea often takes people further into our Earl Grey blends like Moonlit Earl Grey and Victoria Era one. But if you're a purist, then our classic Organic Earl Grey is for you.

  • How to brew it hot

1 teaspoon per 8 oz, 212°F, steep 3 to 5 minutes. Black tea needs the full boil.

  • How to make iced tea

2 teaspoons per 8 oz, same water and steep time, then pour over a full glass of ice. Double strength so the ice doesn't dilute it.

  • How to cold brew

Use 1.5 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of filtered water.
Steep in your fridge for 8 to 12 hours.
Strain out the leaves and enjoy!

Beyond the Cup: Make Something Tasty with This Lavender London Fog

Purple London Fog Latte

Serves 3

Lavender London Fog tea steeps into hot water while a quick lavender syrup builds on the stove, then gets topped with a frothy pour of half and half.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tbsp Lavender London Fog tea
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 6 tbsp lavender sugar
  • 1 tbsp French Lavender Super Blue Organic flowers
  • 1 cup half and half

Instructions

  1. Bring 3 cups water to a boil. Divide evenly between mugs and add the Lavender London Fog tea. Let steep for 5 to 7 minutes.
  2. Bring 1/2 cup water and the lavender sugar to a boil. Add the lavender flowers and stir. Boil and steep until the sugar dissolves and the water is very aromatic, about 4 to 5 minutes.
  3. Strain the lavender syrup through a sieve over each mug, dividing the infusion evenly.
  4. Rinse and return the pot to the burner and set to low heat. Add the half and half and immediately whisk until frothy and just warm. Pour half the foam over each cup and serve immediately.
