What Our Laguna Beach Customers Ask Us About This Tea

  • Why does this tea work?

Mullein leaf has been used across Native American, European, and Ayurvedic traditions to support healthy lung function, ease bronchial congestion, and help clear the airways.

Its expectorant properties help loosen and move mucus from the respiratory tract, making it particularly useful during chest congestion, seasonal colds, and coughs.

Also traditionally used to soothe dry, irritated coughs through its coating action on inflamed bronchial passages.

  • How do I use this tea?

Pale golden, mild, gently earthy with a subtle sweetness.

Easy to drink without sweetener, though honey complements it naturally and supports the throat-soothing effect.

Because mullein leaf is covered in fine soft hairs, straining carefully is essential. Use a fine mesh strainer, muslin bag, or paper filter rather than a standard infuser basket, and strain twice if needed. The hairs are harmless but can irritate the throat if they make it into your cup.

One teaspoon per eight ounces of water at 212 degrees, steeped ten to fifteen minutes.

  • Can I boost the benefits of this tea?

    Mullein Leaf + Licorice Root

Mullein works deeper in the lungs and bronchial passages to support healthy function and clear congestion, while licorice root soothes and coats the throat and upper respiratory tissues.

Clear, comfortable breathing from two complementary directions.

This is the pairing we reach for first when respiratory comfort is the goal.

  • Who should use extra caution?

Mullein leaf is one of the gentler herbs in this collection with no significant known drug interactions at normal tea quantities.

Not recommended in therapeutic amounts during pregnancy as a general precaution.

If you have a known allergy to plants in the Scrophulariaceae family, use it with awareness.
