What Our Laguna Beach Customers Ask Us About This Tea
Why does this tea work?
Dandelion root works through its bitter compounds, taraxacin and taraxacerin, which stimulate bile production and flow from the liver and gallbladder.
Bile is how the body breaks down fats and moves waste through the digestive system, so that stimulation has a direct effect on both digestive comfort and liver function.
Also used traditionally as a gentle diuretic for kidney support and natural elimination, and there is growing research on its effect on blood sugar regulation and insulin sensitivity.
How do I use this tea?
Earthy, mildly bitter, slightly woody. Not a delicate cup.
Honey softens it without masking it, and fresh ginger brewed alongside adds warmth and rounds out the flavor naturally.
One teaspoon per eight ounces of water at a full 212 degrees, steeped ten to fifteen minutes.
Or simmer gently on the stovetop for five minutes for stronger extraction.
Can I boost the benefits of this tea?
Dandelion Root + Moringa Leaf
Dandelion root stimulates bile production and supports the liver's natural detox function while moringa provides the antioxidant-rich nutritional foundation that supports the whole body alongside it.
Cleansing support from two complementary directions.
Who should use extra caution?
If you have gallstones or a bile duct obstruction, avoid dandelion root. Its bile-stimulating action can aggravate these conditions and cause significant discomfort.
If you take prescription diuretics, use with caution as the combination can produce a stronger effect than intended.
Dandelion root affects how the liver processes certain medications including lithium, some antibiotics, and blood thinners, so speak with your doctor if any of those apply.
If you are allergic to ragweed or plants in the Asteraceae family, be aware that dandelion is in the same family and cross-reactions are possible.
Not recommended in therapeutic amounts during pregnancy.
