Pomegranate Lemon Organic Black Tea

$7.00

BLACK TEA | MODERATE CAFFEINE | ORGANIC | TART & BRIGHT

Most fruity teas are fruity and ripe. This one is tart instead. Pomegranate and lemon are both sharp, which earns it a different place in your rotation than berry and peach blends. That same tartness is why it works iced, because melting ice dilutes everything and sharpness is what remains. Brew it strong and pour it over ice.

Sold in 1 oz quantities. Makes 6-10 cups of tea.

Ingredients

organic black tea, organic lemon pieces, organic calendula petals, all natural flavors

From Our Laguna Beach Tea Shop

This one does not announce itself. It sits alongside blends with more recognition and people walk past it more often than it deserves. What changes their mind is when we tell them it is a very different type of fruity tea. It is not like any other because its fruits are tart. It is a pomegranate black tea that is bright and balanced. It is a quiet achiever, and we are fond of it.

If you want that same bright tartness somewhere caffeine free, Cucumber Lemon Hydration is the clean, refreshing direction. And if you want to stay in the tart citrus lane with a little caffeine, Grapefruit Rose Green Tea is the one to try next.

  • How to brew it hot

Use 1 teaspoon of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of water at 212°F.
Steep for 3 to 5 minutes.
Full boiling water gets the most out of the fruit.

  • How to make iced tea

Use 2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of water at 212°F.
Steep for 3 to 5 minutes, then pour over a full glass of ice.
Double the leaf so the ice does not thin the cup.

  • How to cold brew

Use 1.5 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of filtered water.
Steep in your fridge for 8 to 12 hours.
Strain out the leaves and enjoy!

Pomegranate Berry Infusion

Serves 4

Pomegranate Lemon and Raspberry Lemonade teas steep together, then meet a fresh berry and lemon puree for a bright, fruity iced tea.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mixed berries, fresh or frozen
  • 2 lemons, juiced
  • 4 cups water
  • 3 tsp Pomegranate Lemon Organic Black tea
  • 3 tsp Raspberry Lemonade Organic tea
  • 2 to 4 tbsp local raw honey
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and extra berries, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil 4 cups of water and remove from heat. Add the Pomegranate Lemon tea and the Raspberry Lemonade tea and steep for 5 to 7 minutes. Let the tea cool to room temperature.
  2. While the tea is cooling, blend the mixed berries until smooth. Strain the berry puree into a pitcher to remove the seeds, then add the fresh lemon juice.
  3. Stir in the honey to sweeten the mixture, starting with 2 tbsp and adjusting to taste.
  4. Pour the cooled tea into the pitcher with the berry-lemon mixture and stir well to combine all the flavors.
  5. When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour the berry lemonade tea over the ice and garnish with lemon slices and a few berries.
