MAKE TEATIME YOUR me TIME

— tea & turmeric

From Our Laguna Beach Tea Shop

Running a shop teaches you that being out of something is how you lose people. They still need tea, so they try a different one, and often that is where it ends. Honey Bee is the tea that broke the rule for us. We were out of it for months. Every one of those customers came back for it.

If Honey Bee has you curious about bee pollen, Soothing Turmeric Tea and Stress Less both carry it too, each one putting that same healing ingredient to work in a different direction.

  • How to brew it hot

1 teaspoon per 8 oz, 212°F, steep 3 to 5 minutes. Black tea needs the full boil.

  • How to make iced tea

2 teaspoons per 8 oz, same water and steep time, then pour over a full glass of ice. Double strength so the ice doesn't dilute it.

  • How to cold brew

Use 1.5 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of filtered water.
Steep in your fridge for 8 to 12 hours.
Strain out the leaves and enjoy!

Honey Bee & Oat Breakfast Cake

Serves 8

A tender oat and almond flour breakfast cake with floral Honey Bee Tea baked right into the crumb.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups oat flour (or finely ground rolled oats)
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1 tablespoon Honey Bee Tea leaves (ground into a fine powder)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/3 cup melted coconut oil or ghee (ghee fits your Ayurvedic background beautifully)
  • 1/2 cup raw honey (to amplify the honey flavor in the tea)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (adds moisture and a slight tang)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. Dry Mix: In a large bowl, whisk together the oat flour, almond flour, ground Honey Bee Tea powder, baking powder, and salt. Ensure the tea powder is evenly distributed so you get that floral honey note in every bite.
  3. Wet Mix: In a separate bowl, whisk the melted ghee (or coconut oil), raw honey, eggs, Greek yogurt, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine: Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean and the top is a beautiful golden brown.
  6. Cool: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
