Cinnamon Orange Spice Black Tea

$7.00

BLACK TEA | MODERATE CAFFEINE | CINNAMON-FORWARD

This tea is heavy on cinnamon. Not a suggestion of it, not a warm note, heavy. You get the clove next, and orange peel for the citrus, all on a black base with the body to carry it. It is the other kind of spice tea that's not just for fall.

Sold in 1 oz quantities. Makes 6-10 cups of tea.

Ingredients

black tea, orange peel, cinnamon, cloves, flavor extracts

From Our Laguna Beach Tea Shop

Every year we know the season has turned when people start gravitating toward this one. The moment it cools off even slightly, this is what customers come in for first. Fall is when it sells hardest. But it sells well the rest of the year too, because spice lovers cannot let it go.

If Cinnamon Orange Spice is your kind of cup, Orange Spice Symphony Decaf is the evening version for when you want a similar warmth without the caffeine, and Turmeric Chai Black Tea is where to go if you want that spice profile taken somewhere deeper and more complex.

  • How to brew it hot

1 teaspoon per 8 oz, 212°F, steep 3 to 5 minutes. Black tea needs the full boil.

  • How to make iced tea

2 teaspoons per 8 oz, same water and steep time, then pour over a full glass of ice. Double strength so the ice doesn't dilute it.

  • How to cold brew

Use 1.5 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of filtered water.
Steep in your fridge for 8 to 12 hours.
Strain out the leaves and enjoy!

Beyond the Cup: Make Something Tasty with This Cinnamon Orange Spice

The Spiced Orange Sunset Mocktail

Serves 1

A bright, bubbly mocktail built on a bold Cinnamon Orange Spice tea concentrate, brightened with fresh orange juice and a touch of ginger.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces Cinnamon Orange Spice tea, brewed double-strength and chilled
  • 1 ounce fresh-squeezed orange juice
  • 1/2 ounce ginger syrup (or simple syrup if you prefer less spice)
  • 3 ounces sparkling water or club soda
  • Ice
  • Garnish: 1 cinnamon stick
  • Garnish: 1 dehydrated or fresh orange wheel

Instructions

  1. Brew the Concentrate: Steep 2 heaping teaspoons of Cinnamon Orange Spice tea in 4 ounces of boiling water for 6 minutes (longer than usual to get a robust, bold flavor). Strain the leaves out and place the tea in the refrigerator until it is completely cold.
  2. Combine: In a cocktail shaker or a tall glass, combine the chilled tea concentrate, the fresh orange juice, and the ginger syrup.
  3. Shake or Stir: If using a shaker, add a handful of ice and shake vigorously for 15 seconds to chill and aerate the mixture. If you do not have a shaker, simply stir it well in a tall glass with ice.
  4. Strain and Top: Strain the mixture into a chilled glass filled with fresh ice cubes.
  5. Finish: Top the drink with the 3 ounces of sparkling water. Stir gently once to combine the bubbles.
  6. Garnish: Place the cinnamon stick inside the glass and float the orange wheel on top.
