From Our Laguna Beach Tea Shop

Milk oolong is one of the teas people are delighted to find on our shelves. They come in curious about milk tea, and this is where they finally get to try it. They tell us they're glad we carry the real thing and not a flavored version. That milky taste comes from where and how the leaf grows, and it leaves us in awe of Mother Nature every time. So far, not one customer has bought it only once.

If milk oolong has you wanting another fine oolong, Ti Kuan Yin Oolong Tea has all the richness of oolong, toasted and velvety.

  • How to brew it hot

Use 1 teaspoon per 8 oz of water at 212°F. Rinse the leaves with the hot water and pour it off, then steep 1-2 minutes. A rinse opens the leaf, so a short steep is enough.

  • How to make iced tea

Use 2 teaspoons per 8 oz of water at 212°F. Rinse the leaves and pour it off, then steep 1-2 minutes and pour over a full glass of ice. Double strength need for dilution as the ice melts.

  • How to cold brew

Use 1.5 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of filtered water.
Rinse the leaves with cool water and pour it off before adding the filtered water.
Steep in your fridge for 6 to 8 hours.
Strain out the leaves and enjoy!

Beyond the Cup: Make Something Tasty with This

Milky Oolong Tea Poached Peaches

Serves 4

Ripe peaches gently poached in a honeyed milky oolong tea syrup and finished with toasted almonds — a simple, elegant warm dessert.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp Tea & Turmeric True Milk Oolong Tea
  • 2 cups freshly boiled water
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 4 ripe but firm peaches, halved and pitted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Toasted sliced almonds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Steep the True Milk Oolong Tea in the freshly boiled water for 4 to 5 minutes. Strain the tea into a saucepan and stir in the honey and vanilla.
  2. Add the peach halves, cut side down, and bring to a gentle simmer. Cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, turning once, until the peaches are just tender.
  3. Transfer the peaches to serving bowls. Simmer the remaining tea for another 5 minutes to lightly reduce, then spoon the warm syrup over the peaches.
  4. Garnish with toasted almonds, if desired, and serve warm on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
