AYURVEDIC TEA | CAFFEINE FREE | DIGESTIVE AND HEARTBURN SUPPORT

The is the tea for when the burn shows up after dinner.

The after-meal cup with real Ayurvedic herbs you will not find in an ordinary digestive tea.

Sip it after meals. This is an after-dinner cup by tradition. Drink it warm about 20 to 30 minutes after your final meal, when the cooling and soothing herbs are most welcome, especially after the kind of meal that tends to set off the burn.

Cool the fire on your plate too. In Ayurveda, heartburn is excess heat, so the tea works best alongside cooling, calming foods that are sweet, bitter and astringent. Ease off spicy, fried and acidic foods.

Slow down while you eat. Digestion begins at the table, and eating in a rush or under stress is a primary driver of digestive discomfort. A calmer, slower meal followed by a warm cup is the whole ritual, not just the tea.

Use it for a stretch, then step back. Two to three weeks of consistent use after meals gives this formula the best chance to help your system re-balance. If you find yourself reaching for it every day for months, that is a sign to look at what is driving the heat rather than relying on the tea alone.

Curious whether Pitta is your pattern? Our co-founder Vidya's guide to balancing Pitta dosha walks through the cooling foods, spices and daily rhythms that support this kind of formula. Read the Pitta dosha balancing guide and take the Ayurvedic Dosha Quiz if you want to know more about your type.

  • Why does this tea work?

Shatavari: a cooling demulcent herb used in Ayurveda to soothe and protect the stomach lining and calm the digestive tract. Traditionally one of the primary herbs for excess Pitta in the gut.

Guduchi: a rasayana and immunomodulating herb in Ayurveda, traditionally used to reduce the inflammation and heat that drive digestive discomfort. Works alongside shatavari on the Pitta-cooling side of this formula.

Licorice: a classic demulcent, traditionally used to coat and soothe an irritated digestive tract and ease that burning feeling.

Coriander seed and cardamom: the cooling spices at the heart of the Ayurvedic approach to Pitta, traditionally used to calm heat, ease bloating and gas.

Indian sarsaparilla: known in Ayurveda as anantamool, traditionally used as a cooling blood purifier and Pitta-pacifying herb with a long history in digestive and skin formulas.

Bala: a strengthening and soothing Ayurvedic herb traditionally used to support and tone the digestive tract, with a gentle anti-inflammatory action.

Rasna: traditionally used in Ayurveda for its anti-inflammatory and digestive properties, included here to support the cooling and settling action of the formula.

Milk thistle: included for liver support. Healthy liver function and bile production are directly tied to how the body manages stomach acid and digestion.

Ginger: warming and carminative, traditionally used to settle the stomach, ease nausea and support healthy digestive motility. The counterbalance to the cooling herbs in this blend.

These statements are based on traditional herbal use and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

  • Is this the right one for me?

Reach for Heartburn Relief Tea when you want the genuine Ayurvedic approach to acid and indigestion, cooling the fire rather than simply suppressing it, in a blend of classical herbs you will not find in an ordinary stomach tea. It is for the person who wants tradition and depth, not just peppermint.

If your heartburn is frequent or severe, please see a doctor first. This is supportive comfort, not a replacement for medical care.

  • Who should skip this one?

Not recommended if you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition or are on medications without checking with your healthcare provider first. This blend contains shatavari, which has phytoestrogenic properties. If you have a hormone-sensitive condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, check with your doctor before using this blend regularly.

If you have a surgery scheduled, stop drinking this blend at least two weeks before your procedure and let your surgical team know what herbs you have been taking.

If your heartburn is frequent or severe, see a doctor. Ongoing reflux can need real medical attention. This is gentle traditional support, not a treatment for it.

What Customers at Our Laguna Beach Store Ask About This Tea

This is one of the most authentically Ayurvedic blends in our collection. In Ayurveda, heartburn, acid and indigestion are signs of excess Pitta, the body's fire element running too hot, often stoked by spicy or fried food, stress, and eating in a rush.

Rather than blocking acid the way an antacid does, this blend takes the traditional approach of cooling and soothing that inner fire.

Shatavari and guduchi are classical Pitta-calming herbs traditionally used to settle the digestive tract. Licorice coats an irritated system. Coriander and cardamom are the cooling spices Ayurveda reaches for to ease heat and bloating. Milk thistle is here for the liver, because healthy bile production and liver function are directly tied to how the body manages acid. Indian sarsaparilla, bala and rasna complete the classical Pitta-cooling picture, each with a long traditional role in this exact kind of formula.

A purposeful after-meal cup traditionally used to ease the heartburn, gas, bloating and indigestion that come with too much fire, best thought of as gentle, gradual support rather than an instant fix.

A fundamentally different approach. An antacid neutralizes or blocks acid for fast, temporary relief. This tea follows the Ayurvedic idea of cooling and soothing the excess fire, or Pitta, that is seen as the source of the heartburn in the first place, using herbs like shatavari, guduchi and licorice traditionally chosen to calm and comfort the digestive tract. It works gently and gradually rather than instantly, and pairs best with cooling food and calmer mealtimes. Think of it as a traditional approach to the source rather than a quick fix, and not a replacement for medication if your doctor has prescribed it.

For most people, yes, used after meals as intended. This is a formula built for situational use around mealtimes and periods of digestive imbalance, not an all-day-every-day habit. If your heartburn is frequent or severe, that is a sign to look at what is driving the heat, whether food, stress or something else, rather than relying on any tea long term. And if you have a medical condition or take medication, check with your doctor before making it a daily habit.

Earthy and gently sweet, with soft, fragrant spice rather than a strong minty or gingery punch. The licorice brings a natural sweetness, the coriander and cardamom add a cool, aromatic note, and the Ayurvedic roots give it a grounded, slightly woody depth. It tastes like what it is, a traditional herbal formula, mellow and soothing rather than bright and zingy.
