Apricot Black Decaf

$7.00

BLACK TEA | CAFFEINE FREE | APRICOT & PEACH

We looked a long time before stocking a decaf fruit tea. This is the one we kept. Apricot and peach over a decaf black base, with enough body that you still taste the apricot on the second brew. Make it at nine at night and it is still a proper cup of tea. That is what took so long to find.

Sold in 1 oz quantities. Makes 6-10 cups of tea.

Ingredients

From Our Laguna Beach Tea Shop

We almost skipped decaf fruit tea altogether. So many of the ones we tested fell flat after the first brew that we had nearly given up on the category. Then we tried this one twice, expecting the apricot to vanish the second time, and it was still there. That is the morning it earned a spot on our shelf. When you want some caffeine, you can't go wrong with our Apricot and Peaches Black Tea or our Fruity Apricot Green Tea.

  • How to brew it hot

Use 1 teaspoon of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of water at 212°F.
Steep for 3 to 5 minutes.
Full boiling water gets the most out of the fruit.

  • How to make iced tea

Use 2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of water at 212°F.
Steep for 3 to 5 minutes, then pour over a full glass of ice.
Double the leaf so the ice does not thin the cup.

  • How to cold brew

Use 1.5 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of filtered water.
Steep in your fridge for 8 to 12 hours.
Strain out the leaves and enjoy!

Beyond the Cup: Make Something Tasty with This Apricot Black Decaf Tea

Decaf Apricot Tea Spritz

Serves 1

A bright, bubbly spritz built on a chilled Apricot Black Decaf concentrate, lightly sweetened and topped with sparkling water.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces Apricot Black Decaf tea, brewed strong and chilled
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar or honey
  • 4 ounces sparkling mineral water or club soda
  • Fresh apricot slices (for garnish)
  • A sprig of fresh mint (to play off the floral notes of the calendula)
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Brew the Concentrate: Steep 2 heaping teaspoons of Apricot Black Decaf in 4 ounces of boiling water for 6 minutes. The longer steep time for decaf is helpful to ensure a full-bodied flavor. Strain and let it cool completely.
  2. Sweeten: Stir the agave or honey into the chilled tea concentrate until fully dissolved.
  3. Assemble: Fill a tall glass with ice.
  4. Combine: Pour the sweetened tea concentrate over the ice.
  5. Finish: Top with the sparkling water. Give it a gentle stir just once to combine the bubbles and the tea.
  6. Garnish: Float an apricot slice on top and slap the mint sprig against your hand to release the oils before tucking it into the glass.
