From Our Laguna Beach Tea Shop

Our friend Ann had been drinking green tea every morning for more than forty years when she was told to give up caffeine, and she assumed that was the end of it. Watching her face the day we handed her this one is the reason we keep it in stock. Now we think of Joy every time somebody comes in asking for a decaffeinated green tea. If caffeine is not a problem and it is the mango you are after, Mango Peach Green Tea is usually where we send you next.

  • How to brew it hot

Use 1 teaspoon of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of water at 175 to 180 degrees. Steep 2 to 3 minutes. Lower water temperature keeps green tea from turning bitter.

  • How to make iced tea

Use 2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of water at 175 to 180 degrees. Steep 2 to 3 minutes and pour over a full glass of ice. The extra leaf covers what the ice waters down.

  • How to cold brew

Use 1.5 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of filtered water.
Steep in your fridge for 3 to 6 hours.
Strain out the leaves and enjoy!

Beyond the Cup: Make Something Tasty with This Organic Decaf Mango Green Tea

Bold Mango Green Spritzer

Serves 2

A gently steeped Mango Green Decaf concentrate, brightened with lime and fresh mango, then topped with sparkling fizz for a bold, refreshing spritzer.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Mango Green Decaf tea
  • 1 cup water, heated to 175°F to 180°F
  • 1 to 2 tbsp honey or simple syrup
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 cup chilled club soda or sparkling mineral water
  • Fresh mango slices, for garnish
  • Bruised mint sprigs, for garnish
  • Plenty of ice

Instructions

  1. Steep: Heat the water to 175°F to 180°F and pour over the tea, steeping for 4 to 5 minutes to build a rich, concentrated base. The lower temperature protects the delicate green tea leaves from turning bitter while still concentrating the flavor.
  2. Sweeten and Strain: Strain out the leaves and stir in the sweetener while the tea is still warm. Sweetening while warm helps the honey or syrup dissolve fully instead of settling at the bottom once chilled.
  3. Chill: Refrigerate the tea concentrate for about 10 minutes until cold. A fully chilled concentrate keeps the spritzer from getting watered down by melting ice.
  4. Prep the Glasses: Fill two tall glasses with ice, dropping in fresh mango chunks and bruised mint leaves. Bruising the mint releases its aroma right into the glass.
  5. Mix: Divide the lime juice and chilled tea concentrate evenly between the two glasses.
  6. Top with Fizz: Finish each glass with chilled club soda and give it a quick upward stir to blend, then serve cold. Stirring upward preserves the carbonation instead of knocking it flat.
